How is the cruise industry doing post-pandemic? Here are a couple of clues. Two Carnival Corporation cruise lines are reporting January bookings that soared past previous records.
Princess Cruises, the leading cruise line in Alaska, announced that it achieved an all-time high in Alaska bookings for the month of January, surpassing any previous January in its history by more than 20%.
"With its jaw-dropping landscapes, unspoiled natural beauty and incredible wildlife, Alaska is so much more than a once-in-a-lifetime trip," said Terry Thornton, Princess Cruises chief commercial officer.
"This is our 55th anniversary of taking guests to the great land, and this soaring interest underscores the importance of securing an Alaska adventure for the upcoming summer season while availability still remains."

Meanwhile, sister line Cunard has reported that during January it booked more guests than any equivalent period in the last decade.
Across the period, the luxury cruise brand booked a record number of guests, up by 25% versus the previous high of the last 10 years, with demand up for both sailings in year and future years.
Cunard President Katie McAlister said: "As we prepare to navigate what is set to be a truly ground-breaking year for Cunard, it has been fantastic to have such a strong start to the year. The appeal of Cunard is strong for guests across the world and is particularly strong for sailings across Europe on our new ship Queen Anne."
