Two Canadian design icons, Debbie Travis (Debbie Travis' Painted House) and Tommy Smythe ("Where I Do"), are partnering with Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours for a special eight-day Gems of the Danube sailing on May 9, 2024 aboard Scenic's luxury Space Ship, Scenic Amber.
Fares start at CAD $6,595 per person, double. Guests booking by June 30, 2023 can save with free or reduced economy airfare and savings of up to CAD $900 per couple if paid in full within seven days of booking, depending on cabin category. Additional details can be found at www.scenic.ca/debbieandtommy.
A best-selling author with 11 books, mostly on design and decorating, and four-time Gemini Award winner for her television shows, Debbie launched a new home furnishings collection at Giant Tiger last year and her DT branded wines are available at www.LCBO.com. Her most recent project is La Dolce Debbie, is a six-part 30-minute series that documents her heartwarming and often hilarious story of restoring a 13th-century ruin in the heart of Tuscany, Italy. Now a luxury boutique hotel, Villa Reniella is where Debbie hosts retreats, classic car rallies and corporate events, sharing the wonders of Tuscany.
Tommy Smyth enjoys international acclaim and popularity. His contagious enthusiasm and fun-loving approach to decor and renovating has helped him bring messages of good, practical, and beautiful design to his many followers for nearly 20 years by way of television, print media, social media and popular speaking engagements. Known for his warm and personal mixture of fine art, vintage, antique and modern furnishings pulled together with a cutting-edge colour sense, Tommy never lets it all feel too serious.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with Scenic to co-host this once in a lifetime river cruise on Europe's historic Danube," stated both Debbie and Tommy. "For those who have enjoyed joining us on our Instagram 'lives' for inspiration and warm chatter, this trip provides a unique opportunity to join in the conversation and explore design, wellness, historic architecture and delicious food and drink. We can't wait to share it all with you!"
Guests booking this special Gems of the Danube departure will have multiple opportunities to interact with and learn from Debbie and Tommy beginning with an evening welcome reception while docked in Budapest. Debbie and Tommy will each host their own special evening presentations as well as invite guests to listen in as they hold a joint conversation.
In addition to these special events, this itinerary offers an abundance of cultural, historical and culinary pursuits. Home to a remarkable array of European capitals and wonderful attractions, the Danube is the second-largest waterway in Europe and one of the most popular amongst cruisers. In true Scenic fashion, guests can learn how to make traditional Hungarian Goulash in Budapest; hop aboard an e-bike for a guided tour to Danube Island, a recreational playground where locals come to enjoy bathing, boating, cycling and relaxing on its beaches and open spaces; meet the current owners of Artstetten Castle, outside Melk, which dates to the 13th century; and discover the 1,000-year history of Jewish heritage in Regensburg. Guests are invited to join Debbie and Tommy on a Scenic Enrich exclusive event - a classical evening concert in Vienna's luxuriously opulent Palais Liechtenstein.
