Disney has named Academy Award-winning actor and Disney Legend Robert Downey Jr. as the godparent of the Disney Adventure, which is set to begin sailing from Singapore on March 10, 2026.

“Our new ship continues Disney Cruise Line’s tradition of bringing great stories to life at sea, and we are honored that Robert Downey Jr., who has guided audiences through unforgettable Marvel stories, is the official godparent for the Disney Adventure,” said Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Experiences and incoming Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company.

Having Robert Downey Jr., or Tony Stark, the godparent of this ship just makes sense. In 2019, Robert Downey Jr. was inducted as a Disney Legend for his role as Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

“It’s impossible to describe the majesty of the Adventure, and to be its godparent is an honor. As the largest ship in the Disney fleet, a gargantuan blessing must be bestowed … I’ll do my darndest,” Downey said.

Departing from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre in Singapore, the ship marks a historic expansion as the first Disney vessel to be home-ported year-round in Asia.

Disney Adventure Ship Highlights & Themed Zones

The Disney Adventure is designed as a destination in and of itself, featuring seven uniquely themed areas that bring Disney, Pixar, and Marvel stories to life:

  1. Marvel Landing: Located on the upper decks, this zone features Ironcycle Test Run, the first-ever roller coaster on a Disney ship and the longest at sea (820 ft.). Other attractions include the Groot Galaxy Spin and Pym Quantum Racers.
  2. Disney Imagination Garden: An open-air "enchanted valley" inspired by 100 years of Disney adventures. It serves as the ship’s central hub and features a state-of-the-art stage for live shows like "Avengers Assemble!".
  3. San Fransokyo Street: Inspired by Big Hero 6, this vibrant street market features interactive games, shops, and cinemas.
  4. Toy Story Place: An interactive waterplay area where the world of Pixar’s Toy Story comes to life with themed slides and splash pads.
  5. Town Square: A celebration of Disney royals, this area features shops, lounges, and cafes inspired by Tangled, Cinderella, and Frozen.
  6. Wayfinder Bay: An open-air oasis poolside reflecting the Pacific Island artistry of Moana.
  7. Disney Discovery Reef: An ethereal shopping and dining area themed after nautical stories like The Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo.

Key Disney Adventure Ship Facts

Size & Capacity: It is the largest ship in the fleet, capable of carrying approximately 6,700 guests and 2,500 crew members.

Itineraries: The ship will primarily offer 3- and 4-night "Magic at Sea" cruises. These voyages focus on the onboard experience rather than traditional port stops, allowing guests to fully explore the massive vessel.

Bookings for the inaugural season opened to the general public on February 23, 2026. And due to high demand, the first two quarters of sailings are already reported to be selling out quickly.
