WestJet Heads to Barcelona from Halifax

WestJet is helping more Atlantic Canadians say “Hola!” to Spain with the introduction of a seasonal route between Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) and Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN). 

Starting June 27, 2025 the flight will run four times weekly, until Sept. 29, 2025.

 "We are thrilled that WestJet will be launching the first-ever non-stop service connecting Halifax Stanfield to Spain,” says Marie Manning, Vice President, Business Development & Chief Commercial Officer, Halifax International Airport Authority. “This new summer seasonal route to Barcelona, a city renowned for its culture and architecture, not only opens a gateway to one of Europe's most popular tourist destinations but also welcomes visitors from Spain and beyond to explore the heritage and natural beauty of Atlantic Canada.” 

WestJet is offering more transatlantic flights from Halifax this summer season than in previous years. The new routes include flights to Amsterdam, Paris and now Barcelona, plus the return of popular services to London, Dublin and Edinburgh.
