Montreal Metropolitan Airport (YHU) will launch commercial flights when its new terminal officially opens its doors on June 15, 2026. The second airport for the Greater Montreal region will host operations of Porter Airlines and Pascan Aviation, for Canadian destinations from coast to coast. The terminal will also be able to welcome additional carriers in the future.
According to a press release, YHU aims to become the airport of choice for direct flights operated exclusively using quieter, more fuel-efficient single-aisle aircrafts.
The terminal is 15 km from downtown Montreal. In addition to driving to YHU, passengers can take the METbus express shuttle, connecting from the Longueuil-Université-de-Sherbrooke metro station.
"For Greater Montreal passengers, the opening of the terminal at MET will offer more options for travellers and allow airlines to take advantage of greater airport capacity in the metropolitan region," said Yanic Roy, President and CEO of MET – Montreal Metropolitan Airport.
The new terminal covers 21,000 square metres and has nine boarding bridges and a spacious waiting lounge with 900 seats. The retail offerings will be exclusively Quebec-based and includes a Bâton Rouge restaurant, a Café Dépôt and a convenience and travel goods store.
