Porter Airlines announced today, June 25, 2025, that it will be winging its way to five exciting sun destinations on thirteen routes from Toronto Pearson (YYZ), Ottawa International Airport (YOW) and John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (YHM).
The new routes, to Cancun, Mexico (CUN), Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (PVR), Nassau, The Bahamas (NAS), Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (GCM) and Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR), are Porter’s first foray into destinations outside of Canada and the U.S.
“This is a significant development for anyone who wants to fly with Porter to more places and experience our award-winning service that focuses on making flying enjoyable for economy travellers,” says Kevin Jackson, president, Porter Airlines.
It’s especially exciting news for the smaller airports. “We’re thrilled to see such a significant expansion of Porter’s winter schedule, bringing even more sun destinations within easy reach for our community,” says Susan Margles, President and CEO, Ottawa International Airport Authority. “These added flights mean more choice, more convenience and more opportunities for Ottawa-Gatineau passengers to escape the cold and enjoy some well-deserved warmth next winter. Grand Cayman and Costa Rica are brand new destinations for YOW, making the announcement even more exciting.”
Porter is the only airline offering service from Ottawa to Grand Cayman and Liberia, as well as Hamilton to Puerto Vallarta and Nassau.
“We are thrilled to welcome Porter Airlines to the Cayman Islands with its inaugural non-stop service from two key Canadian gateways,” says Rosa Harris, Director of Tourism for the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism. “These new routes are the result of strategic business development efforts by the CIDOT to provide more convenient, non-stop travel options for Canadians, broadening our reach. We look forward to welcoming even more Canadians this winter to enjoy our stunning beaches, vibrant culture, superb cuisine, and warm Caymanian hospitality.”
Porter will fly the new routes on Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, known for being the quietest and most fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft in its class. Passengers can expect “a superior travel experience” featuring a 132-seat, all-economy configuration with Porter’s signature no middle seats, complimentary beer and wine served in glassware, premium snacks and free high-speed Wi-Fi.
