Air Transat is getting ready to toast with Caipirinhas as it expands its presence in Brazil with new flights and a new interline partnership.

“We are thrilled to partner with GOL to make it easier than ever for Canadians to explore Brazil and beyond,” said Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat. “This partnership strengthens our presence in South America and expands our network in a way that perfectly complements our new non-stop service to Rio de Janeiro.”

The airline just announced that it will be partnering with Brazilian carrier GOL Airlines, enabling seamless connections through Rio de Janeiro Galeão International Airport (GIG). GOL has an extensive network of 65 domestic destinations in Brazil, including popular spots such as Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador et Belo Horizonte.

The partnership will also increase Air Transat’s reach throughout South America, via GOL’s 17 international destinations in the region.

The partnership is effective immediately, as of Dec 1, 2025, with available flights coming online over the next several days.

This new agreement is designed to make the most of Air Transat’s new flights to Rio.

  • From Toronto (YYZ): starting February 4, 2026, operating twice weekly.
  • From Montreal (YUL): starting February 5, 2026, operating once weekly.

These will mark Air Transat’s first non-stop flights to the “Marvelous City.”
