As reported back in October, The Maltese government will shut down its unprofitable airline Air Malta in March, 2024. The national carrier will immediately be replaced by a successor going by the name KM Malta Airlines and using the same aircraft.
Malta’s Prime Minister Robert Abela says customers can expect a mostly uninterrupted transition, though some non-profitable routes will be scrapped. Air Malta had 37 operational routes in 2019 -- the new entity will only maintain 17.
Air Malta has cancelled all bookings for flights on Air Malta for travel on or after March 31, 2024 and has refunded all direct customers the full cost (including taxes) of any tickets already issued with travel on or after that date.
Customers who had booked through travel agents will be refunded the full cost (including taxes) of their tickets by the travel agent who is able to access direct refunds from Air Malta on their customers behalf.

KM Malta Flight Bookings
KM Malta Airlines has opened its Summer 2024 program for bookings. The first phase opened Monday for all travel agents and third-party online booking platforms. The second phase will open December 11 for direct online bookings through the new KM Malta Airlines website and booking platform.

The KM Malta Airlines Summer 2024 schedule will operate from March 31 through until October 26, 2024, with the airline serving 17 airports across 15 European cities, namely, Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Catania, Dusseldorf, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Lyon, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Paris Orly, Prague, Rome, Vienna and Zurich.
