To meet increased demand for international travel, Air India has announced it will operate 36 extra flights between March 19 and March 28, 2026. Most of the additional flights are between the Indian cities of Mumbai and Delhi and European destinations (namely London, Frankfurt and Zurich), but also include several extra flights between Delhi and Toronto.

The additional flights will fly:

From DEL to YYZ

  • March 19
  • March 21
  • March 24
  • March 26

From YYZ to DEL

  • March 20
  • March 22
  • March 25
  • March 27

This follows an earlier capacity increase between March 10 and 18, when the airline operated 78 additional flights across nine routes.

According to MSN News, since Iranian and Iraqi airspace is restricted, Air India is taking the Egypt route for European and North American flights, which means longer flying hours.

Due to the longer flight hours required, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given certain relaxations in pilot Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) norms until April 30, 2026.

The additional flights are now available to book through Air India.
