Air Canada plans to resume direct flights to Tel Aviv in April, about six months after it suspended travel to the city following the onset of the Israel-Hamas war.
“We have always said we intend to resume service to TLV, and we are finalizing the logistics at this point for a potential resumption in April,” the airline said in a statement to CTV News Toronto.
AC suspended service to Israel on October 8, one day after Hamas unleashed attacks on Israeli civilians that left approximately 1,200 dead. At the time, Air Canada said it would resume operations to the city “as soon as the situation stabilizes.”

While discussions of a six-week ceasefire have been ongoing, at this point the war continues to rage. Global Affairs Canada continues to advise against non-essential travel to Israel, and all travel to impacted regions including the Gaza Strip and the West Bank
Aviation website Simple Flying says analysis of Cirium data suggests that Air Canada’s planned return to Tel Aviv is set for April 8, with Montreal flights to follow in May.
Eight European carriers have already reinstated service to TLV, while Air Canada’s fellow Star Alliance Member United Airlines has also announced that it plans to resume flights to Tel Aviv in the spring.
