Aeroplan Points Now Good on airBaltic

Passengers can now redeem their Aeroplan points on airBaltic flights. The flag carrier of Latvia might not be on your radar, but travellers who use points to travel in Europe are going to want to know more. 

airBaltic flies to more than 80 destinations, mainly in Europe from their hubs in Tallinn, Riga, and Vilnius, plus a handful of North African and Middle Eastern routes. The airline flies a fleet exclusively made up of Airbus A220-300s, according to Prince of Travel, it’s the only airline in the world to do so. 

Air Canada and airBaltic already had a codeshare agreement in place, this new development works to strengthen that. 

As of right now, it’s only a redemption agreement. That means passengers won’t earn Aeroplan points on purchased airBaltic fares, but they can redeem their points for travel on airBaltic flights.

Loyalty Lobby shared the key details of the new agreement:

• Members can book airBaltic flight rewards online at aircanada.com through the Air Canada mobile app, or via Aeroplan’s Contact Centre.
• Aeroplan points can be redeemed on flights operated solely by airBaltic or combined with Air Canada and any other Aeroplan airline partner.
• Aeroplan points accrual on airBaltic is not currently available.
• The partner booking fee applies for flight rewards that include travel on airBaltic.
