Travel Best Bets recently brought six of its Connected Agents to Madeira, Portugal, for a week-long familiarization trip in partnership with Tourism Madeira.
Held June 15–21, the FAM was led by Matthew Medeiros, Connected Agent Program Coordinator, and included a mix of top-producing advisors and agents showing strong sales growth.
The itinerary was designed to give participants first-hand exposure to Madeira’s tourism offerings, with a focus on culture, food and wine, outdoor experiences and accommodations.
The group explored Funchal and took part in a Madeira wine experience at Blandy’s, a Jeep tour and wine tasting, an East Coast tour, and local culinary and sustainable farm experiences.
Hotel visits included Les Suites at The Cliff Bay and Savoy Palace. Advisors also experienced a sidecar tour, traditional Poncha tasting and a boat tour departing from Funchal Marina.
“Experiencing a destination first-hand gives our Connected Agents the knowledge and confidence to recommend it in a much more meaningful way,” said Claire Newell, President of Travel Best Bets.
“Madeira offers an incredible mix of food and wine, culture, luxury, nature and adventure, making it a destination with strong appeal for many different Canadian travellers.”
Travel Best Bets says the trip is part of its broader effort to provide its national network of Connected Agents with destination education and first-hand product knowledge to support their sales.
