"We want to congratulate TTAND for putting on this conference. But perhaps even more important, on how much growth they've seen as a company," Nicole Bursey, Commercial Director, Transat Tours Canada told TravelPulse Canada at a reception they hosted on the beach Thursday night at the Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort (a World of Hyatt, Inclusive Collection property).
"They're a great partner, and we really appreciate everything that they're doing to support their members, especially as travel is really recovering."
Bursey and Pat Brady, National Director of Sales, are at the Travel Agent Next Door annual conference in Costa Mujeres this week, the largest independent travel advisor conference held outside of Canada.
The company is a strong supporter of home-based agents as one of the early adopters to support home networks.
"When an agent isn't able to reach their BDM, our inside sales people are always accessible, and they have the same empowerment as an outside rep," Bursey explains. "Rather than have one person completely look after an organization, all of our teams are able to help."
Bursey says that while everything isn't always perfectly smooth at the time, the company feels travellers are best served by dealing with a travel agent. She says the company is making every effort to give agents products they can sell to the Canadian traveller, with flexibility being very important especially with Transat's Option Flex product.
"Bookings so far for winter were really good, and as we wrap up the season, summer is also looking very good, and we expect it to be a busy year for groups.
My message to agents is if you're booking groups, that don't wait too long."
