In October, the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) launched a video series to address critical labour shortages within the travel industry and to encourage prospective job seekers to consider TICO certification.
The video series has now been recognized with a Platinum 2022 Viddy Award. Now in its 27th year, Viddy recognizes excellence in the way video is created, produced, and delivered.
The video series was created in partnership with Oliver's, the company that administers TICO's Education Standards program.
"As the travel industry rebounds, there is a tremendous amount of opportunity for new professionals to join the sector," said TICO's President and CEO Richard Smart.
"This video series showcases the diversity, flexibility and career development that all begin with TICO certification. The industry is poised for growth and it's essential that there are enough professionals to support Ontario's vibrant travel marketplace in the years ahead."
The series includes four videos that speak to TICO certification, along with a strong focus on professionalism and consumer protection.
Since launch, the videos have been viewed more than 53,000 times by Ontarians. TICO has promoted the videos through social media advertising, aimed at Ontario's job seekers.
