The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) has issued an Immediate Temporary Suspension Order against Flyswatt Inc., a Mississauga-based travel agency, effectively halting its operations.The agency, registered under TICO (#50028251 - Retail) and located at 6645 Tomken Road in Mississauga, must cease all travel sales and counselling activity immediately.In addition to the suspension, TICO has issued a Notice of Proposal to revoke Flyswatt Inc.’s registration entirely.According to TICO, it is alleged that Flyswatt Inc. “has not been financially responsible in the conduct of its business, while carrying on activities in contravention of the Travel Industry Act, 2002 (the Act), and there are reasons to believe that Flyswatt Inc. will not conduct business in accordance with the law, and with integrity and honesty as per section 8 of the Act.”Flyswatt Inc. is entitled to request a hearing before the Licence Appeal Tribunal regarding the proposal to revoke its registration.Consumers with upcoming bookings through Flyswatt Inc. are advised to contact TICO directly for guidance.
