Sandra Pappas came from the music television world but always hid her not-so-cool passion for Disney from the rock-n-roll colleagues she worked with at MuchMusic.
It was when a neighbor asked her to help his agency as a Disney expert because they didn’t know anything about Disney trip planning, that she decided to turn her passion for Disney into a career and open her own agency.
Fast forward 10 years and Pappas is now celebrating a decade of her company Click The Mouse Travel. The agency was recently awarded a Platinum Earmarked Producer Designation as part of the Authorized Disney Vacation Planner program introduced by Disney in 2014, the first time Platinum designations have been awarded in Canada. They’re also Platinum U-Preferred with Universal Orlando and President’s Club with TL Network.
“I was working for a bigger MLM agency and had no desire to start my own, but when I found out that the Disney Earmarked program came to Canada (which was exclusive to the US at the time), I knew I wanted to be part of it!” she tells TravelPulse Canada.
“Disney Destinations have been a great partner to work with. They ensure we are well trained and up to date on all their destinations and are always there to offer support so that we can offer the best possible service and experiences to our guests.”
Having a media and marketing background, Pappas said when she started Click the Mouse Travel, she wanted to do things differently.
“I knew I had a very strong marketing sense and wanted to use this to stand out and do things differently. I created our website so that the business would be online, hence the name Click The Mouse, which plays on the computer mouse but also refers to our pal Mickey.”
Pappas is also a strong supporter of women – of Click the Mouse Travel’s 47 agents, 89% of them are women.
"So many industries are dominated by men, I'm proud to lead such a remarkable team of so many women to achieve high levels of success in the travel industry.
The team has grown to be an amazing group of agents, co-workers and friends. I believe the energy and the positive work environment we have created is a big contributing factor to our success.”
