National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions offers immersive Galápagos adventures that cater to all travelers, allowing guests to explore at their own pace. Here is what it’s like during a typical day on an expedition sailing.
Start you day with sunrise yoga on the top deck or wildlife spotting on the bow with expert naturalists. Young explorers can document sightings in field notebooks through the National Geographic Global Explorers program.
Then it’s time for breakfast, which features locally sourced options such as made-to-order omelets, fresh fruits and Galápagos-grown coffee as part of the fleet's farm-to-table initiative.

Morning activities might include snorkeling in the Galápagos Marine Reserve to see the sea lions, colorful fish, marine iguanas and penguins. Alternatively, guests can observe marine life from Zodiacs or glass-bottom boats.
During the middle of the day, guests can take advantage of educational talks with naturalists, photo instruction sessions or just have some time for personal relaxation in the fitness center, on the hammocks or in the library.
Like breakfast, lunch offerings include sustainable, locally sourced cuisine, with a special Ecuadorian feast featuring dishes from around the country, including Isla Floreana's roast suckling pig and wild-caught fish in coconut milk.
There are more excursions during the aftternoon. Choose from options such as kayaking or paddleboarding along volcanic coastlines or go ashore for wildlife photography walks to observe unique species like blue-footed boobies, marine iguanas, albatrosses and flightless cormorants.
As the sun sets, guests can enjoy local wine tastings while crossing the Equator, followed by evening recap sessions featuring presentations and photo slideshows of the day's highlights.
After dinner, naturalist-led stargazing sessions on the top deck offer a rare opportunity to view both the Big Dipper and Southern Cross simultaneously—a phenomenon unique to the Equator.
