Sunwing Vacations Group is extending its pause on Cuba operations for the summer 2026 season, with additional routes now affected.
Following a review of its summer program, the company, whose brands include Sunwing Vacations, WestJet Vacations and Vacances WestJet Quebec, will suspend service to Varadero and Cayo Coco.
All Cuba operations are now cancelled from June 20 through October 9, 2026 (inclusive) across all gateways.
The move expands on previously announced cuts and means no Sunwing Vacations Group flights will operate to Cuba during that period.

Service to Varadero and Cayo Coco is scheduled to resume October 10, 2026. Flights to other Cuban destinations—including Holguin, Santa Clara, Cayo Largo and Cienfuegos—are set to restart October 25, 2026.
Sunwing says it will continue to offer flights from Canadian gateways to other sun destinations across Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.

For customers affected by the cancellations, the company says refunds will be issued automatically.
Customers with upcoming vacations to Cuba
All impacted bookings will be contacted through regular ARCC notifications with available options.
“If your clients have a vacation to Cuba scheduled to depart between now and October 31, 2026, they will receive a full refund to their original form of payment and commissions will be recalled. Refunds will be automatically processed, and there is no additional action required. Please allow up to 21 business days for refunds to be processed.”
For group bookings, Sunwing Vacations Group says its sales representatives will contact customers directly to review available options.
The company added it will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
