The Wild View, a new Canadian tour company, has launched under the direction of Saskatchewan-born naturalist, travel writer and photographer Jenn Smith Nelson, whose work includes co-authoring 110 Nature Hot Spots in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
The Wild View offers guided interpretive tours, immersive retreats, youth workshops, family experiences and custom programs for groups.
All experiences are rooted in thoughtful travel, respect for birds and wildlife and a deeper connection with the landscapes being explored.
In addition to regularly scheduled premium tours and retreats, the Wild View will operate specially curated Community Days —donation-based, inclusive and accessible experiences created to reduce barriers to nature connection. These days are designed for those who may face marginalization, require accessibility or simply want a welcoming entry point into guided outdoor experiences.
“Nature belongs to everyone,” said Smith Nelson. “Community Days are about creating space for shared learning and meaningful time outside, especially for those who may not see themselves reflected in traditional outdoor tourism.”
All Wild View experiences are intentionally immersive, holistic and small-scale, with select tours developed in collaboration with local experts and designed to give back to local communities.
Programming takes place across prairie, wetland and woodland environments including Last Mountain Lake, Grasslands National Park, Buffalo Pound Provincial Park and urban birding locations in Moose Jaw and Regina.
