The Air Miles loyalty reward program has officially become Blue Rewards. The transition means more flexibility for earning and redeeming points, with new partners in travel and retail. Blue Rewards is operated by a subsidiary of BMO, and cardholders of Blue Rewards credit cards will be able to earn bonus points at accelerated rates on purchases of gas, groceries, wholesale and at EV charging centres.
The growing number of travel partners where members can earn rewards includes Porter Airlines and, beginning in August, Accor hotel brands including Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Sofitel, Rimrock and Novotel.
Members can access a new, simplified travel redemption platform powered by Expedia for flights, hotels and car rentals. Under the new program, members can redeem any amount of Blue Points for partial payment toward trips, or use points to pay for their entire trip, including taxes and fees.
As part of the launch, existing AIR MILES Reward Miles balances have been automatically converted to Blue Points at no loss of value. Following the consolidation of Cash and Dream Miles, members will continue to earn one simple type of reward Point.
Members' cards and numbers will stay the same – no action required. For more information about the revamped loyalty program, please visit www.bluerewards.ca.
