IHG Hotels & Resorts continues to strengthen
its position in Mexico with its Luxury & Lifestyle, Premium, Essentials,
and Suites brands.
Representing IHG’s fifth largest market globally, Mexico
expansion will nearly double the hospitality company’s growth pace over the
next few years. Today, IHG has 187 hotels and 30,000 rooms across Mexico. An
additional 62 hotels and 8,600 rooms are currently in the development pipeline.

growing domestic demand make it one of the most compelling hospitality markets
in the Americas,” said Elie Maalouf, Chief Executive Officer, IHG Hotels &
Resorts in a statement.
He added, “With IHG’s diversified
brand portfolio, powerful distribution and strong loyalty platform, we are
well positioned to capture demand. Coupled with our deep local presence and
longstanding owner relationships, we see significant opportunity for continued
growth in the country.”
IHG also continues to see strong growth among its midscale brands.
Recent openings include Holiday Inn Express Condesa Mexico City, avid hotel
Guadalajara Aeropuerto Norte and the debut of its Garner hotels brand in
Mazatlán.
Other properties under IHG’s premium brand portfolio comprise
the recently opened Crowne Plaza Mérida and soon-to-open voco Ciudad de Mexico
Reforma. The company also announced a deal that will bring six voco hotels to
Cancun, Guadalajara, Ciudad Juarez, San Luis Potosi, Torreon and Nuevo Laredo
in the coming years.
Property openings in top-tier destinations include Kimpton
Mas Olas Todos Santos in the Baja Sur peninsula, forthcoming all-inclusive
Mayan Riviera resort Kimpton Tres Rios and the recently opened Hotel Indigo
Playa del Carmen.
The return of the InterContinental brand to Monterrey, along
with the soon-to-open InterContinental Miyana Mexico City demonstrates IHG’s
strength in this segment. Six Senses Xala in the Costalegre region is projected
to open in 2027.
