Fodor’s Travel has released its 2026 Fodor’s Finest Hotels list, recognizing 100 standout stays from around the world — from offbeat retreats to design-driven luxury resorts.

Curated by Fodor’s editors and hundreds of hospitality experts, the annual list is compiled independently and without sponsorship, highlighting properties that deliver exceptional experiences regardless of price point.

“While many other ‘best hotels’ lists focus solely on luxury newcomers, Fodor’s Finest celebrates a diverse range of properties, spanning budgets from modest to extravagant,” the publication said.

This year’s list includes just 19 U.S. and two Canadian hotels among the global top 100.

Canada’s honoured properties are Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge in Tofino, British Columbia — a remote, eco-luxury retreat accessible only by seaplane or boat — and Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in Quebec City, one of the country’s most recognizable heritage landmarks.

Standouts in the U.S. include New York City’s Parisian-inspired Fouquet’s, Tennessee’s Bolt Tree Farmhouse, and three New Orleans favourites — The Columns, Hotel Saint Vincent, and Maison Métier.

Five North American properties returned to the list for a second consecutive year, including The Global Ambassador in Phoenix, The Ramble in Denver, and ULUM Moab in Utah.

“With an estimated 765,000+ hotels and resorts now in operation across the globe, there are a lot of options when it comes to picking lodging for your next vacation,” said Jeremy Tarr, editorial director at Fodors.com.

“We are proud that every single property on this list has been vetted by our team of editors and writers, ensuring it is worthy of a place on this list and, more importantly, worthy of your time and money.”
