Canadian Hotels Get a Boost in June

Canadian hotels are doing well, with increased occupancy, average daily rates (ADR) and revenue per available room (RevPAR) reported for June, according to STAY Canadian Hotel Intelligence. 

When compared with the numbers from June last year, occupancy was up 1.5 percent, to 75.6 percent. The average daily rate was $239.06 (increase of 2.9 percent) and RevPAR was $180.77, representing an rise of 4.4 percent from the same time last year. 

It’s the second straight month of increased performance for Canadian hotels, although the growth was less than it was in May, when RevPAR increased by 5.1 percent, year-over-year.

The Prairies were a notable success in June, with Manitoba seeing the largest increases in occupancy rate and RevPAR (+10.8 percent to 80.3 per cent and +21.1 per cent to $143.65, respectively.) Alberta took the cake for ADR, with an increase of 14.2 percent to $247.42
