The largest independent agent conference held outside of Canada is underway this week in Costa Mujeres as The Travel Agent Next Door suppliers and agents gather at the beautiful Majestic Elegance Costa Mujures. Almost 250 travel agents and 64 suppliers are joined by staff this week for the "Breaking Barriers Together" National Conference.
"By working together, we will get stronger together," TTAND's Flemming Friisdahl told attendees Tuesday night at the opening cocktail alongside BDM Rod Hanna, Director of Sales Paula Miller and Sales and Marketing Manager, David Martinez.
"As we all work independently at home, one of the downsides is we don't get to spend time together, we don't go into an office environment and meet your colleagues.
These are not your competitors. These are your colleagues in the world of travel. And that's why this conference to me is so important to get that relationship built. That's why it's so important that this year has the highest number of suppliers that we've ever had at a conference."
The schedule is jam-packed with education sessions, supplier presentations and breakouts with special guest speakers Geraldine Ree and Gary Gzik. Each night will feature a hosted dinner by a top supplier and the week will wrap up with the Gala Dinner and Awards on Sunday.
