Founder Of TTAND’s Favourite Charity Honoured By Governor-General

The Travel Agent Next Door is congratulating Robin Mednick of Pencils for Kids on receiving the Governor General’s Meritorious Service Medal.

Mednick, her daughter Sam, and husband Ed are pictured at Rideau Hall on December 7, as Robin received the medal for her work in Niger, West Africa.

Pencils for Kids provides education, training, and income-generating opportunities for children and women. By providing classroom supplies, programs, libraries and schools to communities in need, Pencils for Kids works to create a world in which all children have the opportunity for an education.

The Travel Agent Next Door raises funds every year to support the charity, to the tune of over $200,000 to date.
