The most anticipated - and SOLD OUT - event of the year, the 2022 Readers' Choice Awards is happening tonight at SteamWhistle Brewery in downtown Toronto.
The votes are in. The winners are being decided. The excitement is building, and we can't wait for the big reveal. Thousands of travel agents from across the country have cast their votes in 31 categories. Who will take home the magnificent Readers' Choice Award and hold onto " Bragging Rights" for the year?
This year's awards will celebrate the work our industry has done since our last 2019 awards, while recognizing efforts in 2020/2021, during the dark days of the pandemic. The event itself has grown in size by nearly 50 per cent, with the "who's who" of the travel business in attendance. The Readers' Choice Awards will see awards given out to major airlines, travel groups, vacation providers, travel trade suppliers, agents, social media influencers and more.
Canadian rock icon Alan Frew of Glass Tiger will be performing, and we will also play one or 2 live BINGO games during the event for those online and in the audience.
Inductees into the Canadian Travel Hall of Fame, some of whom will be in attendance, will receive their commemorative awards to celebrate their achievements at the gala event. This years inductees are: Bruce Hodge, Calin Rovinescu, Frank, Enzo & Joe Demarinis, Jill Wykes and Stephanie Anevich.
