New York, Las Vegas and London, England continue to be favourite international getaways for Canadians, according to the latest Hotel Price Index™ (HPI™) study by Hotels.com™.
"Canadians have an inherent sense of adventure and have always shown a great desire to experience new and different cultures," said Taylor L. Cole, APR, travel expert for Hotels.com. "We're seeing that interest continuing to increase as Canadians seek out more authentic and experiential travel experiences to destinations rich in history and culture."
Although the list revealed few surprises-the top 20 favorite destinations generally remain the same as last year, Paris climbed a slot to overtake Orlando for the fourth-favourite destination for Canadians.
Many American destinations decreased their position on this year's list, with the notable exception of San Francisco, which climbed three slots to take the number six slot.
The survey also suggests there's an increased interest in Asia, with Bangkok, Tokyo and Hong Kong jumping five, four and three spots respectively. In Europe, Amsterdam climbed four spots while Rome and Barcelona jumped two spots each.
