The Canada Strong Pass will return this summer.

Running from June 19 to Sept. 7, 2026, the program offers free or reduced admission to national parks, museums, rail travel and camping, with the goal of encouraging more Canadians to vacation domestically this summer.

The program was first introduced in summer 2025 and, according to the federal government, contributed to increased visitation at participating attractions and transportation providers across the country.

This year’s Canada Strong Pass includes:

  • Parks Canada: Free entry to all sites operated by Parks Canada, as well as a 25-percent rebate on camping fees for everyone.
  • National museums and the Plains of Abraham Museum: Free entry for children 17 years or younger or 50 percent off for young adults 18 to 24 years old;
  • Participating provincial or territorial museums and art galleries: Free entry for children 17 years or younger or 50 percent off for young adults 18 to 24 years old;
  • VIA Rail Canada: Free trips for children 17 years or younger when accompanied by an adult, and 25 percent off for young adults 18 to 24 years old.

According to government data, the program’s first year led to a 13% increase in visits to Parks Canada sites, a 6.5% increase in VIA Rail ridership, and an average 15% rise in attendance at national museums.

“We can be proud of Canada and proud to be Canadians. Following its success last year, we are bringing the Canada Strong Pass back to deliver real savings and make it easier for families to experience Canada's parks, museums, railways and campsites. I encourage everyone to explore Canada this summer and make the most of the Pass,” said Marc Miller, Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture and Minister responsible for Official Languages.

Steven MacKinnon, Minister of Transport and Leader of the Government in the House of Commons, said the extension of the pass helps make domestic travel more affordable while supporting the country’s tourism economy.

The government also said the initiative is designed to support tourism businesses and cultural institutions across Canada by encouraging more domestic travel during the peak summer season.

There is no physical or digital pass required. Travellers simply need to visit participating locations to access discounts or free admission. However, reservations are still required for certain activities, including camping and rail travel.

The offers are available to both Canadians and international visitors.
