The 32nd Annual World Travel Awards were held in Saint Lucia this week, honouring some of tourism’s top offerings in North America and the Caribbean. The gala ceremony, held at the Sandals Saint Lucian resort, was the third stop in the World Travel Awards 2025 World Tour.
“Our winners are stellar examples of tourism excellence, and I congratulate each and every one for helping to raise the collective benchmark across the region,” said Graham Cooke, Founder, World Travel Awards.
Sandals was thrilled to be the recipient of 16 awards, including being named the Caribbean’s Leading Hotel Brand for the 32nd year in a row. Beaches Turks & Caicos also celebrated its 18th win as the Caribbean’s Leading All-Inclusive Family Resort, a recognition that comes ahead of the debut of its Treasure Beach Village, the resort’s US$150 million expansion set to open Spring 2026.
Other key wins for the brand included Sandals Dunn’s River, recognized as the Caribbean’s Leading Luxury All-Inclusive Resort for the third year in a row after opening its doors in 2023, and Sandals South Coast, awarded the Caribbean’s Most Romantic Resort.
Princess Hotels and Resorts were also honoured to receive awards for two of their Jamaican properties: Princess Grand Jamaica was named the Caribbean's Leading New Resort and Princess Senses The Mangrove, Jamaica took home the award for the Caribbean's Leading Water Villa Resort. The company stated: “These accolades mark a remarkable debut year for the resorts, which have quickly become standout destinations for travelers seeking elevated design, immersive experiences, and world-class hospitality.”
In accepting the award for the Caribbean’s Leading Adventure Tour Operator, Island Routes CEO Ryan Terrier, said the honour goes to the whole team. “We strive to share these islands with travellers in a way that brings them closer to the destinations, the places we call home, to share the Caribbean the way we know best – real, vibrant, and authentic.”
Antigua and Barbuda won in the leading meetings and conferences destination, which is a category they have been strategically focused on. “This win is an honour. It is the result of the hard work that has been done to build out the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) product by all stakeholders, in Antigua and Barbuda from Government and Tourism Officials to Hotel Partners, venues, destination management companies and more,” said Antigua and Barbuda Minister of Tourism, The Honourable Charles Fernandez. “It also validates the strategy at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, to focus on positioning Antigua and Barbuda as a Caribbean destination for major meetings and incentive experiences.”
Host destination Saint Lucia is home to several of the top award winners, including Caille Blanc Villa & Hotel, winner of Caribbean’s Leading Boutique Hotel. Jade Mountain Resort was named Caribbean’s Leading Luxury Honeymoon Resort and Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort was hailed Caribbean’s Leading Luxury Resort.
North America winners included The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel (North America’s Leading Luxury Hotel); Four Seasons Resort Lanai (North America’s Leading Luxury Resort); and Edgewood Tahoe Resort (North America’s Leading Boutique Resort).
