Canada is a big market for New York City. With 800,000 Canadians expected to visit this year, we are a major international market for the City that Never Sleeps. New York City Tourism + Conventions is hoping to boost those numbers a bit with special promotional pricing aimed at alleviating some of the sting of the exchange rate.

“The Northern Neighbour Deal is a targeted effort to drive travel from our second-largest international market, encouraging Canadians to book a summer visit while generating new business for hotels, attractions, restaurants and cultural organizations across the five boroughs,” says Julie Coker, President and CEO of NYC Tourism + Conventions. “By partnering with businesses across the City, we are reinforcing New York City’s value, variety and unmatched experiences for Canadian visitors.”

More than 85 hotels, Broadway shows, attractions, restaurants and museums can be booked at a 30 percent discount for Canadians visiting from Aug.18 to Sept. 7, 2026. Reservations open Aug. 4, 2026.

Participating businesses include:

  • 40+ hotels including: Ace Hotel Brooklyn; Hotel Indigo NYC Financial District; The Knickerbocker; Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel; Sofitel New York; Walker Hotels; Westin New York at Times Square; and more.
  • Attractions, museums & tours: Barclays Center Arena Tours; City Cruises; Edge; Empire State Building Observation Deck; Intrepid Museum; Mercer Labs; New York Hall of Science; New York Yankees; NY Waterway Harbor Tours; Puttery; Untapped New York tours; and more.
  • Broadway shows: Aladdin; The Book of Mormon; Buena Vista Social Club; Chicago; The Great Gatsby; Maybe Happy Ending; Stranger Things: The First Shadow; and Titaníque.
  • Restaurants: Ayza Wine & Chocolate Bar; Balade; Rivercrest; Stout locations by Penn Station, Financial District, Grand Central and Bryant Park; The Wolfe; and more.

Porter Seat Sale to NYC

On top of the in-destination promotional pricing, Porter Airlines is offering discounted pricing on its New York itineraries.

“New York was Porter’s first US destination in 2008, and it has remained our top international market every year since then,” said Edmond Eldebs, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Porter Airlines. “Canadians have always appreciated the diversity of experiences that New York City offers, which is unlike any other place in the world. They are continuing to travel there today, and the opportunity to save right now on flights, accommodations, meals and attractions makes it that much more appealing.”

Passengers will save up to 20 percent on flights booked by Aug. 7, for travel until Dec. 7, 2026.

See nyctourism.com/northernneighbour for details and to make reservations starting Aug. 4, 2026.
