Scenic Group is getting ready for the launch of its newest Discovery Yacht, the Scenic Ikon, in 2028, which will welcome up to 270 guests in a luxurious, expedition-style cruising experience.

The new Scenic Ikon will weigh 26,500 gross tons and span 672 feet. With 135 suites, all with private verandas, travelers will enjoy luxurious, boutique-style accommodations. Boasting 15 dining venues, large relaxation spaces and a two-story spa, travelers will enjoy a truly all-inclusive luxury experience.

Scenic Ikon will be equipped to sail both in polar regions as a Polar Code 6 and with an Ice Class 1A Super hull and in warmer climes, with a custom Triton AVA submersible, Zodiacs, two Airbus helicopters and Fassmer tenders.

The ship’s first voyage will depart April, 2028 from Venice, which has already sold out. Its first season will sail the Mediterranean, the Aegean and Egypt, the Cape Verde Islands, Dakar, Antarctica, the Falklands and the Chilean Fjords.

“Scenic Ikon has been conceived, engineered, and built with our in-house shipbuilding division at MKM Yachts and will be operated entirely by our own dedicated Scenic crew,” said Glen Moroney, Founder & Chairman of Scenic Group. “This remarkable vessel is the result of more than three years of passion, innovation, and development by our team, and we are delighted to share the Discovery Yacht with our valued guests, travel advisors, and partners. Every element of Scenic Ikon’s design has been optimized to deliver unrivaled experiences across diverse destinations and environments, from its primary base, the Mediterranean, to the wilds of Antarctica.”

The ship celebrated its steel-cutting ceremony in February and a keel laying ceremony in May this year in a Croatian shipyard, with delivery expected by the end of 2027.
