Ponant Explorations Group announced a new cross-brand status match initiative designed to unify loyalty benefits across its full portfolio, following its acquisition of Aqua Expeditions.
Historically, Ponant Explorations, Paul Gauguin Cruises, and Ponant Yachting operated under the shared Ponant Yacht Club program, while Aqua Expeditions maintained its own loyalty scheme, Circolo Aqua, launched in September 2025.
The new status match brings all programs under one framework, offering what the company describes as “enhanced recognition and benefits” for guests moving between brands.
Aqua Expeditions says the change builds on the success of its Circolo Aqua program, giving members reciprocal privileges when sailing with Ponant brands. Circolo Aqua members will receive tier-matched perks including up to EUR 50 per person (approximately USD $55) in onboard credits, priority services, and dedicated support from Ponant’s reservations team. These benefits apply from a guest’s first Ponant sailing and will carry forward across future voyages.
Circolo Aqua members will be matched to Ponant Yacht Club tiers as follows:
- Navigator → Major
- Explorer → Admiral
- Legend → Grand Admiral
Members must identify themselves and their Circolo Aqua status when booking, and Ponant’s dedicated team will apply the match.
Status match also extends to Ponant Yacht Club members
Ponant Explorations Group notes that this offering is exclusive to its guests, stating that “no other cruise company offers such recognition.”
Guests sailing from Ponant brands to Aqua Expeditions will also see their loyalty status aligned:
- Major → Navigator
- Admiral, Grand Admiral → Explorer
- Commodore → Legend
Matched guests will receive the corresponding Circolo Aqua benefits plus USD $50 in onboard credits on their first Aqua Expeditions sailing.
To access these perks, Ponant Yacht Club members must first obtain their Circolo Aqua status equivalence by contacting Aqua Expeditions through its online form. Once confirmed, guests will earn Miles on eligible bookings based on the applicable earn rate and their share of the booking value. Accumulated Miles help members move into higher Circolo Aqua tiers and unlock additional benefits.
