These Canadian Routes are Among the Busiest for Business Travel

Business travel continues to be, well, big business. The Business Travel Prices Index from American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT)  found the overall cost of business travel increased 8.3 per cent in the first quarter of 2026 compared with the previous quarter. The increase is due to factors such as higher airfares, sustained demand for premium travel and accommodation and geopolitical factors that are affecting global aviation. 

This month, Amex GBT’s Business Travel Pulse looked at the fastest growing routes in the world for business travel. Out of the top 10, four are Canadian. Charlotte-Toronto ranked as the second-fastest-growing business travel route globally, while London-Montreal placed tenth. Two domestic routes are also growing quickly, Kelowna-Vancouver and Calgary-Winnipeg earning third and seventh, respectively. According to Amex GBT, the strong showing by Canadian routes reflects strong demand across both international and domestic business travel markets.
