WestJet employees joined community teams at Calgary International Airport (YYC) for Hope Air’s annual Haul for Hope, an event that raises money to help Canadians access medical care far from home.
This year’s event saw a record number of WestJet employee teams (WestJetters) competing to pull a 67,000-pound Q400 aircraft.
According to a press release, 10 of the teams were made up of WestJetters from across the airline’s business units.

"I am proud to once again participate in Hope Air's Haul for Hope alongside 260 fellow participants who share in our commitment to provide Canadians in financial need access vital medical care far from home," said Alexis von Hoensbroech, WestJet CEO.
"Our longstanding partnership with Hope Air is a testament to how essential air travel is in Canada and with 41 domestic destinations across WestJet's network, we are proud to support Hope Air in their mission to make it easier for Canadians to access vital medical care."
Hope Air, a national charity, provides free travel and accommodation to patients in financial need who must travel long distances for medical treatment.
WestJet has partnered with Hope Air since 2007, providing flights and fundraising support to help Canadian families access medical care.
