WestJet is bolstering its Canadian network for summer 2025, announcing several new and returning routes aimed at improving domestic connectivity and making it easier for Canadians to reach Europe through hubs in Halifax and St. John’s.
New non-stop service from Halifax to Saskatoon and Regina will take off for the first time, while the airline is also bringing back its seasonal Vancouver-Halifax flights.
A new connection between Winnipeg and St. John’s has also been added, alongside increased frequency on existing routes from Winnipeg and Edmonton to Halifax, and from Calgary to Deer Lake.

“These routes bring greater choice to our guests across the country and make it easier for Canadians to access our expanding transatlantic network from Halifax and St. John's,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer.
“As demand for summer travel continues to evolve, we are focused on flying people where they want to go, whether it's reuniting with loved ones in the prairies, exploring new sights in the Maritimes or seamlessly connecting to Europe.”
New and Returning Routes:
Winnipeg – St. John’s (2x weekly, starting July 1)
Vancouver – Halifax (4x weekly, starting July 1)
-
Saskatoon – Halifax (1x weekly, starting June 28)

WestJet said the increased domestic service offers one-stop connectivity to its direct flights from Halifax and St. John's to Europe, including Barcelona, Paris, Amsterdam, Dublin, Edinburgh and London, offering more options for guests looking to explore across the Atlantic.
