Virgin Atlantic is moving ahead with plans to introduce free, high-speed in-flight connectivity across its fleet, confirming an accelerated rollout of Starlink Wi-Fi beginning this spring.
The airline said it will begin installing Starlink on its Airbus A350 aircraft in May, with all A350s expected to be equipped by early summer. The first customer flight featuring the service is scheduled for early May on VS153 from London Heathrow to New York (JFK).

Installation will then expand to the airline’s Boeing 787 and Airbus A330neo fleets, with full fleet coverage anticipated by 2027.
First announced in July 2025, Virgin Atlantic said it was the first UK airline to commit to offering free, fleet-wide Starlink Wi-Fi. The service will be available at no cost to members of the airline’s Flying Club loyalty program.
“As the rollout gathers pace, we plan to deliver 100% Starlink connectivity across our fleet in 2027, as part of our focus on creating a brilliantly connected experience," Juha Jaervinen, Chief Customer Officer, Virgin Atlantic, said.
“Together with Starlink, we’re setting a new standard for connectivity in the skies, with fast, free, high-speed Wi-Fi available from the moment customers step onboard. It’s all part of creating a truly connected, ‘home away from home’ experience, giving customers the freedom to use their time onboard exactly as they choose, whether that’s staying close to work, to plans, or to the people who matter most.”

According to the airline, the low Earth orbit satellite network will enable passengers to stream content, browse the internet, work, and stay in touch throughout the flight, including over remote regions where connectivity has traditionally been limited. Passengers will also be able to connect multiple devices, including smartphones, tablets and laptops.
