New $2.9M Plan to Connect Maritime Cities Via PAL Airlines

Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island are joining forces to improve regional air service through a new partnership with PAL Airlines.

As reported by CityNews, the three provinces have committed funding to support a program aimed at making it easier for travellers to move between key Maritime destinations. The initiative will connect Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown, Fredericton, and Moncton with daily flights, expected to go on sale later this year.

The three-year pilot project comes with a $2.9-million investment, jointly funded by the provinces and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).

Funding will help level the playing field for smaller regional airports, according to the Atlantic Canada Airports Association.

The enhanced air links are expected to strengthen both business and leisure travel opportunities within the region, while addressing ongoing connectivity challenges for smaller communities.
