French Air Traffic Controller Strike Averted

An industrial job action by French air traffic controllers set to take place this week has been called off. The three-day strike was scheduled to disrupt flights across Europe from Oct. 7-9. Tens of thousands of passengers were expected to face cancellations and delays.

EuroNews reports the union representing the workers, the SNCTA, has "made progress on internal issues" and held "calm discussions with all parties involved."

The strike has not been rescheduled at this time.

Air Canada, which operates flights from Canada to Paris (CDG), Lyon (LYS), Nice (NCE) and Toulouse (TLS), had offered a flexible rebooking program, but in light of the cancellation has rescinded the offer.
