Condor’s lively striped livery will be missing from the runways in Edmonton and Halifax this summer as the German airline rejigs its long-haul network in Canada and the U.S.

Condor has previously operated under an agreement with Lufthansa which granted Condor access to Lufthansa’s feeder routes in Europe. The deal between the airlines, known as the Special Prorate Agreement (SPA), was put in place in recognition of the larger airline’s dominant market position. According to aviation website Simply Flying, SPA allowed Condor to market Lufthansa’s European routes, feeding Condor’s long haul offerings.

Following protracted legal proceedings, in December 2024, an interim ruling was issued that Lufthansa is no longer bound by the agreement. A statement from Condor indicates it will continue the battle, stating, “We remain committed to building on our success and growth in North America and will continue to explore all avenues for fair competition including continued legal proceedings.”

In the meantime, without access to these routes, Condor needed to review and adjust its summer 2025 flight schedule in the U.S. and Canada, opting to make the changes in advance of the peak summer booking season. As a result, both Edmonton (YEG) and Halifax (YHZ) will no longer be serviced by Condor, although the airline will remain in the larger markets of Vancouver (YVR), Calgary (YYC) and Toronto (YYZ).

South of the border, seasonal service will be suspended at Washington D.C./Baltimore (BWI), Minneapolis (MSP), San Antonio (SAT) and Phoenix (PHX), while continuing in the gateways of New York (JFK), Boston (BOS), Miami (MIA), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA), Portland (PDX), Las Vegas (LAS) and Anchorage (ANC).

Condor maintains an agent Extranet with secure log-on with information about Condor products, travel industry and Condor news, and tools for the conduction of daily business.
