Air Transat Launches Flights to an Underserved European Destination

Air Transat, recently named World's Best Leisure Airline at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2025 , operated its first direct flight between Montréal-Trudeau Airport (YUL) and Valencia International Airport (VLC) on Friday. This service, the only one from North America, will be offered almost year-round, giving Canadian travelers direct access to Valencia's sunshine in all seasons.

This new route complements Air Transat's Spanish network, which already includes Barcelona, ​​Madrid, and Malaga. "The inauguration of the non-stop Montreal-Valencia flight strengthens our leadership position not only in Spain, but also on the transatlantic network," said Sebastian Ponce, Transat's Chief Revenue Officer. According to him, this destination is part of the company's strategy to diversify revenue and reduce seasonality.

ADM Aéroports de Montréal welcomed this new development. "This direct flight to Valencia will allow all travelers to discover a destination rich in history and culture. We are proud to be the first airport in North America to offer non-stop access to this Mediterranean city," said Karl Brochu, Vice President of ADM.

The connection will be operated by an Airbus A321LR. Air Transat also offers tailor-made packages, tours, and hotels to complement its Valencia offerings.
