Air Canada Flight Cancellations Continue

Despite being ordered to return to work by the Canadian Industrial Relations Board (CIRB), Air Canada flight attendants have continued to strike and Air Canada has continued to cancel flights.

Earlier today, Aug. 18, Air Canada released a statement outlining the ruling, which instructed individual flight attendants to return to work and CUPE union leaders to “publicly call a halt to unlawful activity.”

As TravelPulse Canada reported, at the time there was no mention of when flights would resume, a change from earlier reports stating flights would be reinstated starting, at first on Aug. 17, later revised to the evening of Aug. 18.

The latest statement from Air Canada anticipates flights will resume as of 16:00 EDT of August 19, 2025, but currently remain under “rolling cancellations.”
