The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) is inviting applications from Ontarians interested in shaping the province’s travel consumer protection landscape.
The organization is recruiting four members to join its Consumer Advisory Council (CAC), a body that advises TICO’s board and senior leadership from the consumer perspective.
According to TICO, the CAC, established in early 2024, is part of an effort to ensure consumer feedback informs policy and regulation. It complements the existing Industry Advisory Council (IAC), which focuses on input from travel businesses.
TICO is looking for individuals who are collaborative, committed to consumer protection, and experienced in fields such as education, public service, communications, marketing, or regulatory work. The council aims to reflect Ontario’s diversity and include voices with “unquestionable integrity, credibility and high ethical standards.”
Council members are expected to attend up to four meetings per year, preferably in person. A standard per diem will be provided for participation.
To apply, candidates must complete an online application and submit a resume via email to [email protected] by Friday, June 13, 2025, at 4 p.m.
Only short-listed applicants will be contacted for interviews, and all candidates should be prepared for background checks. Interested parties can consult a detailed Terms of Reference for more information on the role and expectations.
Recruitment for the Industry Advisory Council will begin the week of May 26. For questions, contact TICO at [email protected].
