The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) has charged Human Logistics Inc. with one count of operating as a travel agent without being registered.
Additionally, TICO has charged company founder Aaron Mitchell with one count of operating as a travel agent without being registered, and one count of being an Officer and Director of a Corporation and failing to take reasonable care to prevent the Corporation from committing an offence, in this case, for operating without TICO registration.
It is alleged that Human Logistics Inc. is operating as a travel agent by arranging charter flights in Ontario without TICO registration.
On its website, Human Logistics describes its operations as follows:
"Human Logistics is your partner in moving people cost-effectively. Our deep relationships and intimate knowledge of the industry allow us to execute turn-key air charter solutions at consistently competitive prices."
According to the website, the company has been operating for a decade:
"Human Logistics was founded in 2012 by CEO Aaron Mitchell. Aaron's experience in the industry led him to create a company better structured to meet the needs of modern-day air charter clients. A pilot himself, Aaron earned a Commercial Aviation Management degree at Western University and holds an MBA from Queen's University."
Mitchell will appear in court on May 20, 2022, at 1:30 pm at Old City Hall Court, 60 Queen Street W., Toronto.
Individuals convicted of offences relating to the Travel Industry Act, 2002 are subject to fines of up to $50,000 and/or prison terms of up to two years. Corporations are subject to fines of up to $250,000.
