Expedia Group has announced new discounts and promotions to help members of its Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP) take advantage of surging demand.
Expedia says global travel and tourism is expected to experience record highs this year as travellers take advantage of vaccinations and flexible work conditions to make the most of their upcoming holidays.
"Travel is about to experience a year unlike ever before as people plan purpose-driven trips and increase their investment in unique experiences," said Phoebe Bush, director, Expedia TAAP Americas, Expedia Group. "Our agents are likely to face an influx of requests and enthusiasm from travellers as the entire industry shifts to demand and growth."
Recent research from Expedia Group's Travel Value Index 2022 Outlook found that 81% of travellers plan to take at least one vacation with family and friends in the next six months. Approximately half of millennials (49%) and nearly the same percentage of Gen Z (47%) say they're likely to travel internationally or already have an international trip booked in 2022.
Expedia Group says it is creating a wide range of incentives and services for Expedia TAAP agents including access to a virtual agent; self-service functionality that allows agents to manage bookings more efficiently and the new TAAP Academy learning portal.
Last month, the company rolled out a new quotation tool to help TAAP agents personalize quotes per traveller.
Expedia TAAP is also introducing this year's 'Spring Sale' with up to 30% discounts on thousands of hotels worldwide. The offers are valid on bookings made between March 17 - March 31, 2022, with travel by September 6, 2022.
