The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) has announced that its 2025 International Destination Conference will take place in Castilla y León, Spain, from October 27 to November 1.
According to ACTA, the six-day event, in partnership with the Tourist Office of Spain, will offer ACTA member travel advisors a chance to explore one of Spain’s lesser-known regions while deepening destination knowledge and honing social media skills.
“Castilla y León is the perfect destination for our international conference, offering a rich blend of history, culture, and hospitality,” said ACTA President Wendy Paradis.
“With its dramatic landscapes, UNESCO heritage sites and culinary experiences, it provides an inspiring setting for connection and innovation in travel. We are excited to bring our members together in this extraordinary region.”
Participants will connect with local suppliers, gain first-hand experience with the destination, and participate in professional development sessions focused on business-building.
“It is an honour to be the host country for this year’s ACTA International Destination Conference,” said Isabel Martín Benítez, Director for Canada at the Tourist Office of Spain.
“This event will provide a valuable opportunity to show ACTA travel advisors a region of Spain that is not yet widely known among Canadian tourists, allowing them to discover a beautiful part of our history, culture, gastronomy and heritage. I am confident that this initiative will strengthen the ties between Spain and Canada, bringing our two countries even closer together."
Advisors interested in attending must apply online by midnight (EST) on Friday, June 13, 2025. Only ACTA member travel advisors will be considered, and those holding the Certified Travel Counsellor (CTC) designation will receive priority.
Successful applicants will be notified by Thursday, July 3, and must submit a non-refundable conference fee of $799 CAD. The fee includes single-occupancy accommodations, transfers, meals, and a custom itinerary. Airfare is not included, but ACTA says it is working with airline partners to offer discounted rates to attendees.
The event is open exclusively to travel advisors—companions are not permitted.
