TravelPulse Canada is on hand at the Eden Roc/Nobu Hotel in Miami along with more than 400 Ensemble agents and supplier partners. Members of the 50-year-old consortium are together for the first time since Ensemble was acquired by the Navigatr Group in May.
"What a year it has been," said David Harris, the Canadian who has seen his role shift from President to Executive Chairman of Ensemble.
"For the first time we are together as the new Ensemble. This is the consortium of the future, and I'm beyond excited about what that future will bring,"
Ensemble is a standalone entity within the Navigatr group, which is the parent company of Kensington Tours, TripArc, Travel Edge and the Travel Edge Network. Michael Johnson, who previously served as president of Travel Edge, is the new Ensemble president.
Johnson celebrated the fact that 95% of Ensemble shareholders voted in favour of the acquisition in May 2022.
"Getting 95% of people to agree on anything is remarkable," Johnson said. "The message is starting to resonate in the market as we have added 26 new members year to date. The majority of members are producing more now than in 2019 and we're seeing growth over 2019 in preferred sales."
The Toronto-based Johnson described Harris's new role as "a bridge to preserving the best of the Ensemble experience," as the organization transitions from a cooperative to a private company.
"This was never about a takeover," Johnson added. "The new Ensemble is based on strong partnerships and our strong community, strengthened by additional tools and services and technology that will drive yield to our members."
