The views are astonishing from Fort Napoleon on Iles des Saintes in Guadeloupe. The main village has lovely shops with fresh baguettes and other treats.

Antigua Beach

Antigua was largely spared by last year's Caribbean hurricanes. It's a beautiful island with a beach, they say, for every day of the year.

Dominica Waterfall

The island of Dominica was hit hard by last year's hurricanes but resorts are re-opening and the island is ready for visitors. The posh Secret Bay Resort recently re-opened.

Negril, Jamaica

Negril is a marvellous place to catch a sunset. Jamaica wasn't seriously damaged in last year's hurricane season.

Gansevoort Hotel, Domincan Republic

The Gansevoort is a marvellous property in the Sosua region of the Dominican Republic. Last year's hurricanes didn't do a great deal of damage to the DR.

Pigeon Island, St. Lucia

Pigeon Island National Park is a great spot for a hike on St. Lucia, with wonderful island views and old cannons on the top of the hill. St. Lucia was virtually untouched by last year's hurricanes.

Cuisinart Resort, Anguilla

Anguilla was hit hard by last year's hurricanes, but many resorts have re-opened. The Cuisinart Resort, which sits on a fantastic beach, is slated to re-open in November.

St. John Parish Church, Barbados

St. John Parish Church is a lovely spot in Barbados, with tremendous views of the island's eastern coast. Barbados is outside the traditional hurricane belt and hasn't been hit by a major storm for decades.

Buck Island, US Virgin Islands

Buck Island Reef National Monument is a truly magnificent spot for snorkelling, diving and swimming. It's a short boat ride from St. Croix. The U.S. Virgin Islands were hit hard by last year's hurricanes but many resorts have re-opened.

Long Island, The Bahamas

Long Island is one of the most beautiful spots in The Bahamas, which were largely untouched by last year's Caribbean hurricanes.

St. Vincent

St. Vincent and the Grenadies weren't seriouisly damaged in last year's hurricanes. Air Canada now flies direct to St. Vincent from Toronto.

Grote Knip, Curacao

Grote Knip is a wonderful beach in the northern part of Curacao. Curacao, Aruba and Bonaire, commonly known as the ABC islands, lie well outside the traditional Caribbean hurricane belt.
