Downtown Mazatlan features many things: great restaurants, markets, theatre and ... this. Tequila that has a rattlesnake in it. Yours truly didn't have the guts to try it, but we did try the other varieties such as almond and coffee, which are highly recommended.

El Meson Los Laureanos is revered as the top Mexican restaurant in the area, and for good reason. A quick 15 mins drive from the main area, the menu features fresh, authentic dishes set in an open-air dining area. Another highly recommended spot.

Just outside the restaurant is an area of El Quelite that is a mix of public space, private houses and lots of markets. It's worth a walk through just so see all the offerings in a very colourful and beautiful small town setting.
