Philippines Travel Guide

When we think of the Philippines, we think of boisterous people, vibrant cities, and vivid cultural history. It’s the type of place you go to have a life-changing adventure and it’s a place we recommend all travelers visit at least once in their life.

But before you go, here is your complete Philippines travel guide. Learn about the country, the currency, some national statistics, and which places would be best to visit during your stay.

The Philippines is an archipelago country, which means it consists of a group of islands. Each island has its own unique charm and is a must-see for any serious traveler.

Luckily, because it’s a tourist destination, we’ve found that getting from one island to another is pretty easy.

Firstly, you can fly. Use local airlines for fast and affordable island travel.

Secondly, you can travel by sea. They’re a maritime country and many ocean transport options are provided for tourists.

The major cities have passenger ships that move between all other major cities. And for lesser-known islands, you can use ferries or small charters to get around. It might take a little longer than flying but it’s a cheaper option.

And, finally, you can drive. If you are staying on an island for a while, make sure you have an international driver's license and cruise around on your own time.

National Languages

The Philippines has a long language history, with over 170 languages and variations in the archipelago country. Currently, the national language is Filipino, a standardized version of Tagalog.

The other national language is English, which makes it very easy for English-speaking visitors to navigate the country.

Climate And Weather

The Philippines has a tropical climate, characterized by high temperatures and high humidity.

While most countries are divided into winter and summer, it would make more sense to distinguish the Philippines according to its rainfall because the temperature is pretty stable throughout the year.

June to November is very wet. Typhoon season is from July to October, with as many as 10 typhoons making it through the country.

December to May, on the other hand, is very dry. December to February is the cooler season whereas March to May is hot and dry.
