Celebrity Cruises is redefining gourmet dining at sea through a partnership with world renowned Chef Daniel Boulud, naming him as their Global Culinary Ambassador. Known for his culinary artistry and international acclaim, Boulud brings his globally inspired menus to guests aboard Celebrity ships with three distinct culinary offerings: Le Voyage, Luminae and the Chef’s Table experience.
Raised on his family’s farm in the village of Saint-Pierre-de-Chandieu, just outside of Lyon, France, Boulud remains inspired by the rhythm of the seasons and menus driven by fine ingredients. Since arriving in the US in 1982, Boulud has become renowned for the contemporary appeal he adds to soulful cooking rooted in French tradition.
Named Chef of the Year by the Culinary Institute of America, Boulud’s influence begins at Le Voyage, an intimate and upscale dining venue designed to take guests on a global culinary journey. Drawing inspiration from the chef’s world travels, the restaurant’s menu delivers refined dishes with international flavors that give guests a taste of the places that inspire him.
Guests also receive a printed copy of the night’s menu, a photograph of their dinner experience and a cookbook by Boulud himself.
Those sailing in The Retreat can enjoy a taste of Boulud’s creations at Luminae, the cruise’s private restaurant for suite guests. The restaurant serves up exclusive menus that aren’t found anywhere else on board, including Boulud’s new complimentary signature dishes.
For guests interested in a more immersive experience, they can reserve a seat at the Chef’s Table. This five-course private dining event includes a welcome champagne toast, an expert-led gallery tour and a menu curated by the chef himself. This experience includes premium wines with each course and is limited to a certain number of guests, ensuring an intimate and social evening.
Celebrity Cruises is also working closely with Chef Boulud on a culinary mentorship program where the most talented up-and-coming chefs can hone their craft by learning from the kitchen staff and Boulud.
